Avoiding The Major Pitfalls Of Life

Avoid life's guaranteed pitfalls with this holistic guide to mindset mastery—ditch these 11 toxic mindsets to unlock clarity, growth, and the good life.

Avoiding The Major Pitfalls Of Life

The late Charlie Munger said "All I want to know is where I'm going to die, so I'll never go there." I think this is very wise, so I have outlined guarenteed "attitudes towards life" that will guarentee your failure.

Blame

If nothing is your fault, then you might not as well begin anything. Success depends on your ability to take responsibility for uncomfortable things in reality. Constantly trying to shift blame and avoid responsibility is the guarenteed way to end up with a pityful life.

Stop blaming for things and view it as your personal problem to come to a solution. Nobody is coming to save you and there are no angels in the sky. When you go home at night you know very well that there is nothing left but you and your thoughts.

Taking responsibility might feel scary. But it is your responsibility for your own life. Pointing fingers and critisizing others for their shortcomings will not do you any good. In fact, you should look in the mirror for your own shortcomings when you are going to blame someone.

Demonization

When you reject an aspect of reality because you dont like it, it closes you off from the opportunities within. Instead of demonization, condemining and moralizing others, why don't you get up from armchair and keyboard and change the world for the better?

Whatever you demonize in the world, that is your blind spot. Perhaps take the time to reserach and analyze what you're missing out. Often demonization is a result from the lack of understanding for the topic at hand.

It is true that there are certain truth and perspectives in the world that are better than others. Not all truths are created equal. Such perspectives like Andrew Tates will quickly send you to the doors of hell.

Judgement

Wagging your finger and criticizing others is one great way to ruin your happiness. Judgement comes when you try to put boundaries upon the world and you evaluate them as "good or bad."

There is always something great to complain about. Frankly, you can complain about anything you want and find fault in whatever you are looking at. If you constantly are not satisfied, then you will live a miserable existence.

Even worse is that you turn this judgement towards yourself. You become very self-conscious of yourself when you turn this weapon within. Evaluating yourself as more "superior" or "inferior" against other people or things in the world.

How to stop this is to stop labelling things. Catch yourself when you try to bucket things as "good or bad." There is nothing absolute about your morality. When you try to force your morality upon the universe, chaos and destruction is following closely behind.

Lack Of Experience

To become successful and to make wise decisions requires experience. You must take up this responsibility to gain this experience for yourselves. You will make mistakes and blunders and you just have to pick yourselves back up to gain even more experience.

With some reflection, failure is the quickest ticket to success. The more you fail and make yourself look like a stupid fool the faster you will be able to achieve your goals.

Perhaps the ultimate failure in life is that you never managed to do what you wanted to do. You're going to die one day, so failure can simply not be an option. Because to do nothing means that you fail by default. Great news, what I just said means that failure doesn't exist.

No Compassion

You cannot be successful and be content with yourselves if you hurt other people on your way to get there. Of course, even saints have their faults. But fundamentally you must provide value and life humanity up as a whole to be proud of your work and achievements.

The end do not justify the means. Integrity is choosing whats right rather than whats convineint. Under this definition you will quicky realize that integrity is in short supply. The world every time with almost terrifying consistentcy, will do something that is convinient over something that is right.

Even what is "right" alone poses a significant challenge. Do the best you can and do others no harm. Realistically, the only way to solve this is to let go of your ego and become enlightened, which is not realistic to most people struggling in survival.

Simplification

The world is incredibly complex. Some generalizations and assumptions are necessary so that you can operate effectively in the world. This poses another form of self-deception when you have faulty assumptions and operating systems.

When you encounter the same problems and fail again and again over the same thing, you should examine your assumptions and beliefs. It is likely that you are operating from a position without enough nuance.

Lack of nuance and distinctions of your problems will blow you out of the water really quickly. "A problem that is identified is half solved." You should take this to heart and stop oversimplifying issues.

Societal Pressure

If you're the type of person to sacrifice your own dreams because of the opinions of others, you will guarantee failure. We will always draw criticism in whatever we do.

You must figure out what is the right path to walk for you. Once this is determined, you walk that path and listen to nobody else. Only you can see and actualize your own visions, unless they see what you see, they wont offer their compassion.

Counterintuitively, we actually help others by actualizing our dream life. We do what most people are unwilling to do, which is to put in the hard work to generate true value in the world. This true value is then used to benefit all of mankind, this article wont write itself!

Giving Up

There is no where else to go. Either you make it or you dont. Everytime you want to give up, pick yourself up and take the first step again. Never give up until your last breath.

To give up is to say "there is nothing else life has to offer." I think deep down you know very well that life has plenty more things to offer. That is why you bothered yourself to read this article in the first place.

There are zero good reasons on why you should give up on your life. Remember, dreaming is free. All it cost is 5 minutes of your time and some imagination of what a good life looks like. If you dream big, you will make it big. If you dream small, you will stay small. Fly high.

No Patience

If your expectations are too high and you expect things to come quickly, then you're in for a rough ride. A lack of patience is the single most common reason why people fall off and give up from their dreams.

Remind yourself that you are spending this second eitherway. You can either spend it in misery or happiness. The results aren't going to come any faster if you choose either option. So why not just be patient and happy?

Take a look at your goals. Those goals are so valuable in the first place, that you are going to try forever until the day you die. Even if you doubled the time it takes for you to achieve your goals, I bet you would still do it.

No Experience

Make it your personal mission to gain a lot of experience in life. Without any experience, you will have no wisdom. Without wisdom, you will not be able to make good decisions that will guide you towards the good life.

Your experience will literally be the foundation of how you ground yourself in reality. It helps you differentiate what are the higher perspectives and the lower ones.

Beliefs are for the inexperienced. Faith is for the clueless. Direction is for the aimless. If you are experienced, you do not require any of these things. Making you one confident and capable individual.

Don't Make Terrible Decisions

There are certain decisions that are so terrible that will make it game over for you, or make it significantly so much more difficult to self actualize. Don't make risky decisions when it comes to your health or the risk of you dying.

If you get yourself involved into a car crash and make yourself live life like Stephen Hawking, you can basically already say that life is game over for you. It will be very hard to achieve anything if you lose your independence.

Perhaps if you cannot make good decisions, just avoid bad ones. You cannot fall in the trap of making no decision either, because no decision will lead to a mediocre life. Deliberate carefully, once you have decided, stick to it and be decisive.

Conclusion
